According to providers and regional patterns, collections scheduled for Good Friday (April 18) will take place on Saturday (April 19).
Monday (April 21) collections should run as normal.
The council does manage kerbside recycling. Most likely following the same pattern, Friday's recycling collection moves to Saturday. But it may pay to call them to confirm.
Remember, you can contact the council anytime on their 24/7 number: 06 349 0001.
Shopping:
Expect most shops to be CLOSED on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Expect shops to be OPEN on Easter Saturday (normal hours) and Easter Monday (likely reduced/public holiday hours).
Cafes, restaurants, dairies, petrol stations, and pharmacies have more flexibility to open throughout the weekend, but it's still best to check their specific hours.
Recommendation: If you need a specific shop, especially a smaller independent one, it's always best to check their website, social media page, or call them directly to confirm their Easter weekend opening hours.
